Mohammed Iqbal Saleem 8 months agoI had an excellent experience at this UPS Store. The staff was friendly, quick, and professional — they handled my shipping and packaging efficiently. The place was clean and organized, and I was in and out in no time. Definitely my go-to spot for shipping and printing in the area. Highly recommend!
Mystical Soul a month agoWent into this UPS Store to open a mailbox and what should have been a simple interaction turned unnecessarily uncomfortable and condescending. The young woman helping me stated she was new, which was completely fine. She brought over another employee to assist her. The issue was not that additional documentation was needed — the issue was the way I was spoken to afterward. While I was calmly checking my bag for documents, the employee repeatedly stated the exact same thing to me verbatim multiple times as though I could not comprehend basic instructions. I was not arguing, interrupting, or refusing to cooperate. I heard him the first time. And he felt the need to repeat himself excessively as if his chip malfunctioned. The interaction felt patronizing, overly authoritative, and unprofessional. Customers deserve respectful communication, not to be talked down to or treated like children for asking questions or verifying documents. Training someone new should also include modeling professionalism and emotional intelligence. Unfortunately, that was not the experience I had here. Let Javi run the store as he speaks to people respectfully This behavior is: A dominance signal — repetition without elaboration communicates “I don’t owe you an explanation” • A destabilization tactic — designed to make you feel like you’re the problem for still being present • Plausible deniability — they can always say “I was just being clear” when what they’re doing is performing authority for themselves or onlookers authority repetition” or falls under the broader pattern of racial condescension — but more specifically, the behavior you’re naming has a few recognized labels: “Performative repetition” or “domination looping” — repeating the same denial verbatim as a power move, not because they think you didn’t hear, but to signal that the answer is final and non-negotiable, and that your silence or presence is itself being treated as a challenge. It’s also discussed in racial trauma literature as part of “racial microaggression through condescension” — the implicit message being: I don’t trust your comprehension, or I’m reminding you of your place.
Lydia Chu a year agoThis UPS Store on Arena Blvd is my go-to spot for Amazon returns. They recently added a self-serve return area, which makes the process even easier. The staff here are always friendly and courteous. I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s also a great place for mailing packages, and they work quickly, even during the busy holiday season. This is my favorite UPS location in Sacramento. Highly recommend!
Renee Carrasco 4 months agoKris at UPS is very helpful. It’s always nice to see him whenever I have a return! I love good customer service. Five stars!
La’nette Bryant a month ago“I don’t recommend this place. They charge members to use a computer but then don’t actually allow full access, which feels misleading. On top of that, printing costs extra fees that aren’t clearly explained upfront. It ends up being more expensive and inconvenient than it should be. Save your time and go to FedEx instead—it’s easier, more transparent, and you won’t get hit with surprise charges like $5 just to print. And just for context, I was able to dispute it and got my money back through my bank—so make sure you watch your charges carefully :)
