I made an appointment one day in advance for notary services at 9am. The store opens at 8am. Arrived to my appointment and was told they couldn't help me because "someone showed up early and filled up their books". I tried to explain that I had an appointment and they just repeated that they couldn't help me, I could come back at 10am. No apology or explanation. Why would you bother to accept appointments you can't keep?

Just save yourself some time and skip this location. Customer service is beneath the earths core. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. I wanted to do a simple return and the lady couldn’t scan the barcode so she charged me 4.50 to print 2 sheets of paper. The women that was helping me seem like she hated her job, which is understandable. But once again just do yourself a favor and go to another location if you can !

I’ve lived in Noe Valley for 14 years and have been coming to this UPS Store just as long. I’ve never written a complaint like this before, but today’s experience was bad enough that I won’t be returning. I came in around 2 pm on a Thursday with a large package. I had emailed my return label hours earlier, something I’ve done many times without issue. I was in a perfectly fine mood when I reached the counter. The employee glanced at her screen and said, “Your email isn’t here.” She told me to resend it, which I did immediately. She then dismissed me with a curt “Next” and began helping another customer. When I told her I had resent the email, she repeated, “I don’t have it,” without offering any help or suggestions. This was the first time this had ever happened to me, so I reasonably asked what I should do. At that point, there were several obvious options. She could have asked me to verify the email address. She could have suggested a Wi-Fi issue. She could have asked to see the sent email. Instead, when I offered to show her the email on my phone, she loudly repeated that she “didn’t have it.” When I became visibly frustrated—while holding a giant box, dealing with a shoulder issue, and with my car double-parked outside—she escalated the situation by saying, “You realize you’re freaking out about a label, right?” I had not raised my voice or acted aggressively in any way. And yet her tone was combative and dismissive. Her reaction was just weird. I then asked the second employee for help. The first employee jumped back in, despite supposedly helping other customers, and falsely claimed I had never sent the email at all. The second employee wasn’t much more helpful, and no one made any effort to problem-solve or de-escalate. For context, the store was not busy. There was no line behind me until after I had already been treated poorly. I eventually left and went to the UPS Store in Marin. The difference was night and day. The staff there greeted me kindly, helped me connect to Wi-Fi, saw the email come through immediately, and printed the label without drama. That is what customer service looks like. When I mentioned my experience at this Noe Valley location to the Marin staff, they said, “Oh yeah, we’ve heard about that store.” That says a lot. The final cherry on top: as I was leaving, the second employee called out a passive-aggressive “Have a nice day!” It was unnecessary and confirmed that the attitude problem wasn’t accidental. The staff here is usually fine, which makes this even more disappointing. But after being treated this way, I have no desire to return. I hope the management is takign notes.

I went in just to print a mailing label and saw a sign,“40¢! OK, that’s not bad!” and the clerk said nothing. Then a woman appears and says, aggressively, that it would be $4.50! I was like, “What???” The young woman was very inappropriately stern with me. “There’s a 4.50 minimum charge,” she demanded. I had like 5 minutes before the PO across the street closed, but had I known, I’d have bought some envelopes or something. I was really angry. I am an older woman who has lived in and been part of the development of Noe Valley for over40 years, and I was really offended! I will never to set foot in there again. What a horrible place.

I brought a time-sensitive package to this UPS Store and was told by an associate named Kassandra that the “cheapest option” would arrive by Saturday “with plenty of time.” It arrived five days late. When I called for a refund two weeks later, I was brushed off by another store associate (“call back Monday”). When I finally got the store manager on the phone on Monday, she wasted my time hedging, claiming she’d “pass my feedback to the associate who helped me,” and once we began submitting my refund request, only then told me the package had actually been shipped USPS so they couldn’t help at all. When I said how frustrated I was, she admitted she was the original associate, meaning the whole “I’ll pass this along” routine was a lie. Late delivery, zero accountability, and a customer service experience built on dishonesty. Avoid this location.
